Let’s be honest: food today isn’t the same food many of us grew up with. And in Part A of this episode, Vita and I talk about something so many women struggle with every day—understanding what we’re actually putting into our bodies.
We hear the phrase processed foods constantly… but no one ever really explains what that means. And even fewer people talk about the difference between processed and ultra-processed foods. There is a big difference—and it matters.
Processed food simply means something has been changed from its original form. Flour from wheat. Bread from flour. Cooked, blended, prepared. That’s not the villain.
Ultra-processed foods are another story.
These are the foods packed with chemicals, dyes, preservatives, sugars, fillers, and ingredients we can’t even pronounce. They’re designed to sit on shelves forever. They’re created to make us crave more. And they quietly impact our hormones, energy, mood, anxiety, sleep, weight, skin, digestion, and overall mental health.
And women… we are especially affected.
We’re raising kids in a world where “kid-friendly” foods are some of the worst offenders. We’re bombarded with messages that convenience matters more than what something is actually made of. We’re told to count calories instead of paying attention to ingredients.
But here’s what I believe:
This is not about guilt. Not about shame. Not about perfection.
This is about awareness.
Because when we know better, we do better.
When we understand, we have power.
When we choose consciously, we protect our bodies, our families, and our future.
We deserve to feel energized, calm, clear, and capable. Our kids deserve real nourishment. And we deserve a relationship with food that feels sane, grounded, and loving—not fearful or restrictive.
Small adjustments make a huge difference.
Reading labels matters.
Being thoughtful matters.
And choosing real food as often as we can?
That’s self-care.
This conversation is about honoring your body… because your body deserves love, respect, and truth.
And trust me… this episode is just getting started.
