The beauty industry loves to convince us that more is better. More products. More steps. More treatments. More things to add to an already crowded bathroom counter.
At some point, many women start wondering whether all that effort is actually making life better. That was one of the reasons I enjoyed my conversation with Callie, founder of Twofold Wellness.
Callie's journey began with a health scare that forced her to take a closer look at how she was caring for herself. As she learned more about wellness, she became increasingly interested in the connection between what we put into our bodies and what we put on our skin.
The idea seems obvious once you hear it. Our bodies don't separate beauty and wellness into different categories. They work together every day.
That realization eventually led her to create a wellness brand built around supporting both. What stayed with me after our conversation was her belief that self-care should fit into real life. Most women are juggling careers, families, responsibilities, and endless to-do lists. Few of us have the time—or the desire—for routines that require a dozen products and an hour in front of the mirror.
There is something refreshing about simplicity. Taking care of yourself shouldn't feel like another job. It should help you feel stronger, healthier, and more confident as you move through your day.
As we get older, many of us become less interested in chasing perfection and more interested in feeling good. We want energy. We want health. We want habits we can actually maintain.
That's what made this conversation so interesting. It wasn't really about beauty products. It was about creating a lifestyle that supports the person you want to be.
Sometimes the most powerful changes come from doing less—and doing it with intention.
